Can I request a copy of my contract?
Yes. The COVI app allows you to access your contract. Just open the application on your phone and click on the option that says, “Download your contract.”

Another option is to request a copy through our hotline. Should you encounter any technical difficulties, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at 1-888-484-2950.

What is covered in my auto protection plan?
You can check your coverage level through the confirmation email that we sent or by downloading the COVI app.
When can I use my policy?
Your coverage is immediately active after purchase and VIN verification. Please see the declarations page of your contract for the details about pre-existing conditions.
Is it possible to transfer my current policy to my new car?
All our auto protection warranties are non-transferrable. However, if you wish to apply for a coverage for your new car, our team can assist you. We can cancel your old plan and help you get approved for a new one.
What repair facility do I have to use?
You can take your car to a dealership or your local ASE-certified repair shop within the United States or Canada. All claims will be paid over the phone using a corporate credit card.
What should I do if I need roadside assistance?
For towing services and other emergencies, you may call the roadside assistance number found in your COVI app.
What kind of replacement parts do you offer?
Replacements may be new, used, or remanufactured parts of the same like, kind, and quality. However, please note that they may have less miles than the original one.
Do replacement parts come with a Vehicle Repair Coverage?

The coverage varies per user. Most car repairs may get at least 12 months and 12k mile Protection Plan, while others may have a longer standalone Protection Plan.

How do I discontinue my auto protection plan?
Kindly contact our staff at Drive Whiz so we can walk you through the cancellation process of your coverage.
Do you offer refunds?
Yes. Please call our customer service team at 1-888-484-2950, and we’ll help you process a refund.

Billing Questions

Can I pay more than one payment?
Yes. If you wish to make multiple payments, please get in touch with our payment processing team at 1-888-484-2950.
How can I update my method of payment?

You may update your payment method through phone. Just call our payment processing staff at 1-888-484-2950, and we will be happy to help you out with that.

Can my due date be changed?
Yes, provided that you have paid all your past dues prior to the request. Give us a call at 1-888-484-2950 to get more details.
Can I skip a payment?
No. Most of the contracts we issue do not allow for a skipped payment. This is to ensure your coverage is active in case your vehicle develops an issue or you encounter an emergency.
Do I have to be on automatic monthly payments?
Contracts are set up on automatic monthly payments to ensure coverage is active for any car emergencies.
I can’t make my payment. Does that mean my account is cancelled?
No, your account does not cancel right away. However, please note that no claims will be paid unless you’ve settled your dues. Moreover, you only have a limited amount of time to make a payment. In case this happens to you, please reach out to us as soon as possible.

Claims Questions

How do I file a claim?
Call 1-888-484-2950 or file a claim through the COVI app.
Will my premium increase if I file a claim?
Drive Whiz offers fixed rates for our auto protection plans. No matter how many claims you file, your payments will still be the same.
What happens after I file a claim?
The repair shop will contact us to determine the coverage included in your plan. Our claims department will contact you regarding the next steps.
How can I get updates for my claims?
You can check with our staff by calling 1-888-484-2950 or view the status through your COVI mobile app.
When should I file a claim?
Please contact our claims department or roadside assistance team as soon as possible. Your claims representative will determine the cause of failure, and if it is a covered component, it will be taken care of for you.
How will I know if my claim is covered by my plan?

Check your contract’s coverage section to find a list of covered components. See contract for more details.

How does the deductible work?
Once the repair is completed, you pay your deductible directly to the repair facility.
Can I request a rental vehicle while mine is being repaired?
In the event your vehicle is kept overnight for a covered repair, you are eligible for a rental car or alternative transportation reimbursement. Alternative transportation includes a taxi, car service, rideshare (such as Uber and Lyft), train, or bus.
Do I pay for rental up front?
It depends. Dealerships may not require you to pay up front for rental fees. On the other hand, rental agencies would most likely charge fees, so you may shoulder the costs firsts and then request a reimbursement once the repair is complete.
What if I encounter a road emergency far away from home?
Simply call the roadside assistance number to arrange a tow truck to take you to a local repair facility. You may call the shop regarding the claim the morning after. Most of the coverages also provide trip interruption. We can reimburse from $150 up to $450 worth of hotel and restaurant expenses in case your car breaks down 100+ miles away from home and needs to be left at a repair shop overnight.
How does repair payment work?
Our claims department will pay for the repair over the phone using a corporate credit card. In case there are other charges that are not covered by your plan, you’ll be the one to shoulder them.
How can we confirm if a claim has been paid for?
Make sure the part is listed in your coverage plan. The mechanic will check the extent of the repair and call our claims department to determine if it will be covered by your plan or not.
What else do I need to do to keep the coverage active?
Ensure regular maintenance of your vehicle and keep all the receipts for reference. Please do not misuse, neglect, or modify your vehicle during the contract term.
*Please see contract for claims and benefits eligibility.

General Questions

Is there a difference between a "service contract" and an "extended Vehicle Protection Plan"?

A service contract is what we issue after a successful car Protection Plan application. On the other hand, an extended Vehicle Protection Plan is a plan that covers expenses excluded from your manufacturer’s warranty. Our company is not connected to vehicle manufacturers or dealers in any way. Our vehicle service contract is designed to pick up where your existing Vehicle Protection Plan drops off or to fill any gaps in coverage.

How is a Drive Whiz contract different from my auto insurance policy?
Typically, auto insurance covers only collision or accidental damage to your vehicle, like car crash, fire, or vandalism. Our service contract covers the mechanical parts of your vehicle. Like most auto insurance policies, mechanical breakdowns are not covered unless they’re a direct result of a road accident. With our service contract, your engine, transmission, and other vital car parts are protected in case they break down or malfunction.
Do you sell extended warranties?
No. Drive Whiz is not affiliated in any way with the extended warranties that manufacturers and dealers sell. We only provide service contracts through our partnerships with established suppliers. These contracts offer protection for almost all vehicle makes and models, and repair work can still be done by your local dealership or repair facility.
What information do you need from me when I request a quote online?
Rules vary for each state, so we need to know about your location and how we can reach you. We will also ask for the make, model, mileage, and age of your vehicle, so we’ll know which plan will best protect it.
Why do I need a vehicle service contract even though I’ve worked on my own car for years?
Even seemingly simple auto repairs now require computerized diagnostics, specially trained technicians, and sophisticated equipment only found in specialized repair facilities. It’s best to entrust your car to professionals instead of risking more problems down the road as a result of a poor DIY job.
How is a Drive Whiz service contract different than the vehicle warranty my dealer sold me?
Manufacturer warranties only cover services on your car up to a certain age or mileage criteria. A Drive Whiz service contract is designed to pick up where your existing warranty drops off, or to fill any gaps in coverage. This provides continuous protection for your vehicle against costly auto repairs.
How do I figure out which vehicle service contract is right for me?
An ideal service contract should include a flexible monthly payment scheme, free towing and rental cars, a money-back guarantee, and a cancellation option. Drive Whiz backs each of its contracts with these services and offers; many other warranties and service contracts don’t provide this level of customer satisfaction.

When choosing your level of protection, make sure to take a close look at what each contract covers. Sometimes, the most basic and least expensive coverage could still leave you paying for costly repairs. So, it’s important to consider every aspect of your plan instead of just the fees alone.

Drive Whiz contracts have been designed to fit a wide range of coverage needs and budgets and can be further customized to meet your unique needs. Our contracts will cover your car’s most vital parts. View our sample contracts.

Coverage Questions

Is my vehicle guaranteed to be covered by Drive Whiz?
A representative of ours will review your information and will contact you as soon as possible, provided you have already submitted an online request. You can also call us toll free at 1-888-484-2950 for more information. We offer coverage for both new and used vehicles, provided that they pass our standard requirements.
Is my vehicle service contract transferable?
Most of the contracts are transferable if you sell your vehicle to another person. Contact our representatives toll free at 1-888-484-2950 to discuss the specific terms of your contract.
Do you offer coverage for pre-owned or used vehicles?
Yes, we accept used/pre-owned vehicles as well as new ones.
Can my contract cover expenses for multiple cars?
No. Each vehicle is different in terms of its mileage, age, overall condition, and repair history, and the contract we create is vehicle-specific. This is done to ensure that each vehicle receives the right level of protection.

Vehicle Questions

What and where is my VIN?
Your VIN is your vehicle identification number. The most common VINs contain 17 characters (Ex: 1XTG1234FT123D564). You can find your VIN on the driver’s side dash viewable from the windshield, the front of the engine block by raising the hood and looking at the front of the engine, in the driver’s door jam, or your vehicles collision insurance card.
What and where is my current odometer?
Your odometer is used to measure your current vehicle mileage or the total distance you’ve traveled since the first time you drove your car. It’s typically located on the right side of your dashboard, below the speedometer. In some cases, you need to have your engine on to see the latest reading on the device.

We cannot provide coverage for vehicles with salvaged/branded titles.

No. We do not have plans for commercial vehicles.
